Braeden and Santa

Braeden and I went to the Townecenter in Mt. Pleasant to see Santa. Braeden has been talking about seeing Santa for a few weeks and was not giving any indication that he was scared. I was a little hesitant because the first time he sat on Santa's lap he screamed bloody-murder.

This time was completely different. He ran right up to Santa and told him he wanted a pirate ship for Christmas. They talked about pirate ships and Braeden answered every question with a "Yes, Sir."
Braeden and I spent the rest of the weekend at Uncle Jim and Aunt Alice's house. Great weekend with my little guy.

Thanksgiving 2011

Braeden and I traveled to Chicago for Thanksgiving this year. Braeden was excellent in the car for the 14 hour trip. We chatted and he slept. His favorite part was driving through the mountains and asking why there was smoke on them (they were the Smokey Mountains).

We had a lot of fun being home even though it was only for a few days. Braeden was able to see Meema and Peepa and his aunts and uncles. Braeden also was able to play with his cousin, Charlotte. The weather was nice while we were there but Braeden was expecting snow. I think that Braeden believes that it always snows in Chicago. I wish I could get inside his mind and see how he processes geography...

October in South Carolina

The weather has been great this month. It's actually tolerable to be outside. Braeden and I have spent our weekends in downtown Charleston and at the beach. One of Braeden's favorite things to do is to write his name in the sand. He will also ask how to spell other names to write.
Braeden was an Indian for Halloween this year. At first he wanted to be a fireman but the helmet that came with the costume did not fit his head - way too small. But I'm actually glad he was the Indian. He looked so handsome - just like his dad!!!
Our routine for the weekends includes football games and going to Uncle Jim's and Aunt Alice's house. He knows that after the game we are headed to their house. He loves playing with Brandon and Jordan and seeing his aunt and uncle.

Braeden and I go to high school football games on Friday nights

Aunt Alice made cupcakes and Braeden obviously loved them
 Isle of Palms

One of Braeden's favorite things to do at the beach is to go the Windjammer. Great burgers!
Beach + Sun + Burger = Tired Little Guy

 My Little Mohican

Braeden did a great job passing out candy at the house. He was also very generous with the candy
We trick-or-treated in my neighborhood. The neighborhood is mostly young professionals so a lot of the houses were not participating but the ones that were made it fun. Because Braeden is so shy, I told him that if he didn't say "Trick-or-Treat" and "Thank-you", the vampire would come out. We saw a vampire at the Halloween store and Braeden did not like one bit. Now he thinks that vampires get very angry eyebrows if people don't use good manners. I sound more like my mom everyday and I'm going to use this one as long as I can.

Night at the Beach

Braeden and I spent the last day of September at the beach. It was the first time that it was not sweltering hot. There was a nice breeze and the sun was setting. Braeden wrote his name in the sand and splashed in the surf. We looked for shells and "sleeping" jelly fish. The beach is definitely one of our favorite spots. With all this nice weather we will be spending more time there

Weekend at the Clarks

Braeden and I spent the weekend at Uncle Jim and Aunt Alice's. We had a lot of fun. Braeden played with his cousins and went shopping with Aunt Alice and Jordan. Brandon gave Braeden a Woody toy and it did not leave his side the entire weekend. Brandon even let Braeden take it home.

A Day at the Beach...

Braeden and I went to the Isle of Palms the other nite and walked the beach. Braeden wanted me to write his name in the sand and he told me exactly how to spell it. He is such a smart boy. We walked the beach and we ended our "boys' night" at the Windjammer.

When we got back home I was ready for bed but Braeden wasn't quite ready. We stayed up watching Archie and Dora.
